The vision

Heading
on history
The chapter that began at Lascombes in 2022 with the Lawrence family marked a change of direction.
First and foremost, it represents a return to family, in the tradition of the great dynasties that have shaped the property’s history. This is not insignificant. It is the strong, long-term commitment of a family that knows and loves wine and Bordeaux.
SEE THE RENEWAL

The terroir
classified in 1855
It is also the choice of a return for Lascombes’ Grand Vin to what is customarily called its historic terroir.
That of the 1855 classification. In a style more rooted in Bordeaux tradition and classic proportions, with a predominance of Cabernet-Sauvignon grown on gravelly soil. The signature balance of the Grands Vins of Margaux.
SEE THE TERROIR“For us, Lascombes’ Grand Vin
should offer charm and pleasure,
in a very classic, Margaux style.”

A new interpretation of the terroir to reflect the renewal
Lascombes is also perhaps the best representative of the incomparable mosaic of Margaux terroirs. As you descend towards the estuary, the layer of gravel becomes thinner and the limestone slab begins to show on the surface.
In 2022, we found veins of blue clay at La Côte. A discovery as fascinating as it is incongruous in the Médoc. We decided to give a voice to this unique terroir with a new Merlot wine with a different, distinctive identity: La Côte – Lascombes.
It will make a wonderful addition to the Lascombes family of wines.
SEE THE WINES“We also want to offer other perspectives,
to give free rein to the diverse characteristics of Margaux’s great terroirs.”

New perspectives
We’re continuing our work of understanding and precision, first and foremost in the vineyard.
We will also soon be giving concrete expression to our deep commitment to biodiversity and our desire to share the renewal of Lascombes with our visitors.
