Dense in attack on the palate, quite elegant on the mid-palate, medium-bodied, a touch hard.

GILBERT & GAILLARD - Wine Guide 2011

Intense colour . Profound nose of black fruit with a toasted note. Generous, melted, rich palate with velvety tannins. Faint vegetal touch on the finish.

TASTED - Avril 2012 - Andreas Larsson

Clean and fairly elegant nose, red and dark berries, some floral notes, fine integration of oak on the palate, slightly looser structure with soft tannin, crushed berries and a fairly long finish, plush attractive and drinkable wine.

TASTED - Avril 2012 - Markus Del Monego

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black centre. Well expressed ripe fruit with almost balmy components, vanilla and roasted aromas. On the palate well structured with luscious fruit but firm tannins. Medium weight and good length.

Gault Millau (Supplement Nov/Dec 2010)

A really great second wine. The house style is evolving, with more and more precision and tension. Depth and finesse –everything we like.

Revue du Vin de France - Jan 2011

Way better than the 2007, Chevalier de Lascombes 2008 has lovely, expressive ripe fruit. The palate is full, with flesh and a nicely adjusted oak ageing. Lovely freshness in the finish.

Bettane et Desseauve Sélection 2012

Stylish aromas of roses, very ripe, silky suave texture, probably a tiny bit too smooth but so seductive.

Revue du Vin de France - Jan 2011

The colour is starting to show a touch of age, the nose is discreet. Very smooth on the palate and still displaying a hint of oak ageing. A tender, easy wine which can be enjoyed today.

Gilbert & Gaillard - Guide des vins 2013

Concentrated colour. A rich nose, chocolaty oak against a jammy fruit, vegetal backdrop. An ample, full, mature vintage with a clean and expressive aromatic palette. Good flesh and balance. A second wine with good grip, ready to drink.

Deep colour. An expressive nose combining very ripe red berry fruit with a welcome touch of forest floor. The palate is in a sweet, ripe style. Jammy red berry fruit comes to the fore joined in the finish by a little touch of firmness. A vintage to drink now.

Gault-Millau - Juillet Août 2011 - Rubrique Bu & Approuvé

The second wine of Château Lascombes, this is a powerful, dense Margaux. A nose of ripe fruit and spices with some gamey notes. Volume and power on the palate underpinned by good structure. The fruit character on the nose follows through to a spicy finish. Pair this wine with a raspberry tart.

Delicious in its youth, this supple and well made wine shows very intensive Blackcurrants and blackberries aromas in 2003. Fresh aromas of flowers, spices and mineral, it has the finesse and the racy character of the Margaux terroir, with the same pride than its elder.

Lean but intense oaky nose. Cherries, vanilla, rich, broad, ample fruit and weight. Supple tannins, plenty of spice, has body and some power. Enjoyable, good length. Drink 2009-12.
